For our Blog assignment purpose, we have chosen Feast & Furious Cafe as our first place to go..

Historical Background of the shops (Feast & Furious Café )

Feast & Furious Café was opened for business on February 12. Feast and furious Cafe is a racing themed restaurant. Antique car, antique motorcycle, big bike, heavy motorcycle also inside the cafe. This restaurant serves Western food, Asian food and served no pork. This cafe is the first racing themed in Malaysia.

The owner, Alex is definitely not your conventional guy. In the 1990s, he was one of Malaysia’s first jet-ski racers to turn pro, winning eight international races during that decade before turning to songwriting under the stage name of SingleTrackMind. He recorded two albums, earned three AIM nominations and was the opening act for Deep Purple and INXS when they played in Singapore and Malaysia in 2000s. He is also the author of a bestselling travel book “Till The Road Ends” which is now in its second reprint. He was a speaker at the recent Bersih4Kuching rally, touching on the turbulent political career of his late father Datuk Amar James Wong Kim Min.

He is opening a restaurant and it harkens back to his first love; motorsports. They have a Formula 1 car, full size, not a scaled replica, on the wall as a painting. Then the idea for the cafe, Feast and Furious, came about fast.“I collect motorcycles and my house was getting crowded so I was looking for a place to keep them. A friend told me people want to see my bikes.” That sparked off the idea of opening the restaurant, Wong said.

Wong had commissioned two local artists to do a motorsports mural depicting his heroes. There are two giant two-storey high portraits of the greats like Valentino Rossi and Ayrton Senna. It will be filled with model cars. There’ll be bikes can sit on and bikes hanging from the ceiling. Despite being a social activist, He will keep politics out of his restaurant. He also like to talk politics but this place is all about having fun.

It is the perfect place for a heavy and full breakfast in the morning will the proportion of the food served.
